MEMORIAL
The James Gaudet Memorial Bridge opened today across the Hunter River by Todd Kennedy. Kennedy was forced into retirement last month and took up a job as a bureaucrat.
POLITICS
The ongoing elections have turned violent again with armed bands representing the two major parties skirmishing. The Liberals, successors to the Democratic Front, and the Democrats, successors to the Social Democrats, both deny the accusations. Protests meanwhile continue to roll throughout the nation as strikes have caused widespread disruption to the movement of goods and have caused shortages in parts of the Island. The Military stands ready to offer any assistance the government requires.
ECONOMICS
The Slough, the infamous ship that helped PEI through it's economic crisis, was returned today to London, the capital of the Republic of Southern England, after an agreement was worked out between that state and Northern England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, and Ulster. The ship only has 72 tonnes of Gold remaining, but an agreement was made that PEI would repay the gold in dollars, without inflation, over the next 50 years.
The Economy is booming after tourism has taken off and PEI has become a hotspot for Gay Marriage after the practise was legalized in 1996. PEI is the first country in the world to do so. Due to a project spearheaded by P. Enis Yeecuck, Gay couples crom countries that refuse to recognize the union are allowed a "bypass" of the immigration system, and as a result, the population has boomed as well.
